Want to learn to eat more mindfully?
This is your health coach Angela and I'm here to help you learn what mindful eating is all about and how it can help you reduce excess weight, bloating, and lethargy after eating.
But first, what's the big deal about eating mindfully anyway?
Well, I'm so glad you asked!
In the modern world we eat primarily for convenience rather than nutrition. We also eat for instant gratification rather than long-term health benefits.
Can you imagine learning a new way of slowing eating in which you actually get to experience the tastes and textures of your food rather than wolfing it down in a hurry or snacking on the go?
I can help you to learn to slow down and eat mindfully! I can help you to see the food you eat as a means to nourish your whole system, but also tastes delicious!
So what is mindful eating?
Mindful eating means taking the time to honor your food by choosing high quality, organic food, preparing it with care, and eating it slowly and thoughtfully using your senses to really enjoy your meals.
It means allocating time to prepare and enjoy eating your meal without rushing or multitasking at the same time.
Mindful eating is a way of saying to yourself: "This is how I thank my body. By choosing to be mindful of what I put into it and of the way I eat is a way to treat my body with respect and high regard."
You can think of this type of eating as a meditation. It means choosing to be present with your food and the way you eat it.
My clients find that eating mindfully helps to: o Sense intuitively when you are full
o Gain way more satisfaction from eating
o Develop a healthy relationship with the body through food at nutrition o See food as a form of medicine
o Discover new tastes and textures
o Improve digestion ( less gas and bloating ) o Regulate bowel function
o Discover food sensitivities
o Create healthy habits that enliven you and restore vitality
How will I know if it's time for me to learn to eat mindfully?
It's time for you to practice mindful eating if you answer "YES" to any of the following:
o You get bloated after eating
o You eat your food quickly and seemingly unaware of what you've eaten o You eat just to feel full not to enjoy the taste of your meal
o You eat to numb your emotions or as a primary response to stress o You want to learn to enjoy healthy food
o You gain weight easily, especially in your belly o You frequently crave sugar or starchy foods
o You have difficulty focusing or have "brain fog" o You feel lethargic after eating
o You have allergies or hay fever
